Southwest Hand Therapy Services was opened as an independent, therapist-owned practice in 1978 by Dorian Ford. It was located in the former West Seattle Community Hospital. The practice provided outpatient therapy for individuals with hand and arm injuries as well as inpatient occupational therapy services. The practice grew and thrived. When the hospital closed in April of 1990, Southwest Hand Therapy moved to a location on 35th Avenue Southwest. In January, 2019, the practice moved to its present location.
